Made of glue, acrylic paint, hair, cleaning detergent, wires and plaster. Total sculpture 4.8x2.5x1.6m Exhibited as part of Traversed Differences at Firstdraft, 2021 I have been making skins, a new materiality I created, to prioritise bodily memories as a way to process and survive trauma. This is a photograph of a detail in one of my installation which highlights my hair. In the making of these skins, I invite participants to share their fears with me while the skins are wet. In exchange, I offer them hair which they then place into these wet skins. When the skins dry, I peel them off to create sculptures.
Didn't sell.
